Settlements Specialist
Franklin, TN
The Settlements Specialist will perform the day-to-day settlement process for merchant transactions. This will include providing exceptional customer service to merchants as necessary. Thus, the ideal candidate is highly organized with excellent problem-solving skills to address any issues that may arise.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities (Other Duties May Be Assigned)
- Perform the day-to-day settlement process for our entire merchant base
- Setup of new merchants in our GL system and maintain records for all updates/changes
- Reconcile accrued balances and payments on a daily basis
- Investigate transaction discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Assist Customer Support at a Tier 2 Level for any merchant related items
- Produce various reporting/KPIs on settlement activity
- Produce 1099s on an annual basis
- Collaborate with internal teams and billing to ensure seamless operations
- Assist in the development and implementation of settlement procedures and best practices
- Act as a backup to the Billing Specialist
- Provide support to the broader Accounting Department when needed
Required Skills
- 3+ years of Accounting or experience in a similar role
- Bachelor’s degree is a plus
- Prior fuel card/payment experience is a plus
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must be detail oriented, organized, and able to multi-task
- Ability to effectively interact with and relate to internal and external audiences of all levels
- Must be flexible with a “can do” attitude and have remain professional under high pressure situations
- Ability to solve problems using data from multiple sources
- Able to retain and protect confidential material
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Experience with NetSuite is a plus
- 1099 experience is a plus
